Romuva USA/Canada celebrates the Ethnic or Old Religion of the Lithuanians. This religion has very ancient roots and many international links. It was the national and state religion of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania until 1387. It is very closely kindred to Latvian Ethnic Religion known as Dievturi (which means "Bearing God Dievas"). It is also similarly related to the religion of the Old Prussians, and other Baltic peoples.

American Romuva is very grounded in traditional Lithuanian culture, and not related to other Neo-Pagan traditions.Lithuanian paganism differs from American Neo-Paganism. Superficially, both dearly adhere to ages-old traditions, which are not set in stone. Lithuanian pagans adapt their traditions to their circumstances. They learn songs, practices, and the elements of ritual.

Again, the Lithuanian Ethnic religion is heavily immersed in the Lithuanian/Baltic Culture. The structure and origin of the faith is reconstructed from the archaeological excavations, folklore, mythology, linguistics and chronicles as melded with an uninterupted traditions of celebrations of the folklore and customs of the Lithuanian people.

There are congregations and individuals in various parts of the USA and Canada.
For more information,  contact the Presiding Elder of Romuva USA/Canada at alka@netnitco.net.

The Lithuanian Ethnic Church Romuva is not only active in Lithuania, but it is alive in the USA and Canada.
